Nicely done. Wonderful light, perch, and sharpness. Would loved to have seen the bird's head turned two degrees more toward you. Really. But in spite of that, wish it were mine. On a second look, with the soft light from the right a good head turn might have helped light the face.

    Is this a feeder set-up?

Sweet perch...not too thick, not too small, and perfectly covered with lichen! The redpoll looks mighty good too, perfect exposure. Fill would have lightened up the chest nicely...

I really like the detail on the head....even with it turned just a tad away. Colors of the BG and bird are complimentary.....and I especially like the simple perch with it's lichens. Oh....how I wish this one was mine.

    Hi JM,

I really like how your subject blends with the BG and the little red on top really adds to the image. The exposure looks good and the composition works for me.
