    Wilsons Phalarope
    Taken last night as these beautys are always moving. This is a female which takes on the breeding plumage and the males stay neutral in colors which is something different for a change.:)
    I thought I would post this one for everyone. Also I left a water drop rolling off the top of her bill.;)

    Nikon D300 AFS 600 F4
    1/500 F5.6 ISO 400

    Equisite. Sharp, great light, wonderful pose. For a big print, if it fits with your personal ethics, some bill clean-up work would be in order. Where?

    I've been trying for a couple of years just to see any phalarope so I'm always thrilled to drool over someone else's good fortune. Wonderful colors and so bright....and really good to get a sharp image of such a spinner. Well done.

    Nice job Jim. I saw a few of these birds at the ponds yesterday afternoon but did not manage any thing near what you were able to accomplish. And now Thanks to you I know the name of these birds as I was a bit puzzled seeing them for my first time. Beautiful work.
