    Default Snowy Egret juvenile

A few juvie Snowies were putting on a nice show for me as I sat in the muck of Jamaica Bay on Thursday morning. I suppose this could qualify for the Theme; note the juvie's greenish legs with some black on the front, and the lack of an adult's "golden slippers". Minor crop for comp, slight rotation, USM.

This is a lovely image, Bill. I love the feel of the BG water, the trailing water spray, the raised feet with visible talons, the wing position and the intent look on this young egret.

Wonderful light, wing & Talons position & a dreamy background make it a beautiful image.

Nice pose and I like the water trailing off the feet. Look like the light was starting to get hard but the image is well exposed. I would have liked a bit more room below (and right to retain the ratio).

Nice pose, exposure looks good and I also like the water trailing off the dangling feet, Bill.

I like the BG the best about this image. beautiful horizontal striations.
Dangly feet and water drops are always a bonus!
Agree re: a bit more room on the bottom,

Great exposure on the Snowy. Nice wing angle and body expression. And I agree with Gail and Daniel about adding just a bit more room to the bottom.

Great light and pose Bill. the feet position is awesome with the trailing water and a nice look at the eye.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I, too, wish for more room at the bottom. That's all there is, although I suppose adding canvas wouldn't be impossible.

Daniel, I agree the light was beginning to get bright. I was there before the sun rose over JFK, but it took some time to clear the trees and light the near side of the pond. This was almost an hour and a half after sunrise.

Excellent shot, great action and exposure, the water droplets add that little extra too.
