    another image I took the other day,lighting was overcast,taken in Morcambe Bay,a few miles south of the English Lakes.cannon 7D,cannon500mm IS L USM,700MM FL,tripod,iso800,1/250sec,f5/6.crop,sharpened touch of levels.

    Nice image, Chris.
    Nits: It appears to me that the head is not the sharpest part of the image.
    I would selectively sharpen the head one more time.
    The OOF brown spot looks somewhat distracting.
    I would clone it out if it were mine.

    Agree with Karl on the bird's head not appearing sharp. I like the raised foot and the perch. Wonder whether you might have been able to take one step to your right to alleviate the rock in the BG and get a slightly better angle on your bird.

    Really like the dynamics of the image, but the background portion is a bit distracting. I agree with Marina and Karl regarding the sharpening of the head.
