This is very nice, Ron. I agree maybe the split blur bg is a bit distracting but I don't think it's horribly bad. That is one sharp/detailed Goldcrest with a good pose that I like a lot. Sounds like you had a day like I do some times....many clicks and few keepers. On the bg, I might be tempted to clone from right to left, it would be a bit of work but would even out the image some.
Sharp as a tack. Wonderful pose and exposure. Nice COMP. Wish only for a more uniform BKGR. Way to go on a difficult subject.
