I created this image at a small nature reserve near my home in Johannesburg. The males with their long tails display spectacularly in summer, but can be deceptively difficult to photograph in flight.

Yes, seen this before and remains stunning! Exposure on the blacks handled perfectly. Great work!

Juan, Please let us know why you like it; and please see the top sticky. Thanks.

Chris, Stunning tail, wings, BKGR, pose, and EXP. I do believe the De-SAT-ing the reds would improve it a bit. Wish that the bird had had its head down to avoid the merge with the far epaulet. IAC, it is a superb image (as expected).

Ooops, I apologize for my poor feedback on this excelent image:o
The most I like on this image is the amazing posture of the bird in full display and the soft, very nice, light. The green on the BG compliments very well the red colours on the wings.:)

I is a super shot but I think might be better if your AV was 7.1 or better. Balcks handled very well.

Fantastic image Chris, awesome species, the pose is brilliant and the exp is right on and sharpness is great.

Even if it is at only F5.6 :) I still love it.

Agree with Artie on the De-sat.

Love the superb wing pose of the bird and of cos that trailing long tail! The green BG really sets off the black bird really well. Great stuff!

I would be very happy to get something like that. On my recent trip to Kenya I didn't had any success. Bravo on this one!!

Take my hat off! This must be a hard bird to try and capture. I like how the bill does not blend into the black colors, but is in front of the reddish patch. What a cool pose! Absolutely a winner!
