Default Kelp Gull with sandy fish.

Took this the other day while at the beach. This kelp Gull landed not far from me with a fish and started pulling it apart on the beach. As it, the fish, has just come out of the water it was wet so quickly became covered in sand. I knew it was one of two species of gull - Kelp Gull or Pacific Gull - on returning home I looked at the guide and saw that it was a Kelp Gull.

    Thanks Tom

I like the sharp eye and the red eye-ring. Nice
    behavior image.

Looks like the gull likes its fish breaded :-) Nice low angle, and I like the clean beach. Very sharp as posted. If you can you recover some details in the blacks I think that would improve the image.

Great low angle on this image, and I like the angle of the gull as well. The catch is a nice plus.

Very nice detail and colors. Not sure I'd want to eat that sandy fish.

I had breaded fish for dinner last night! Thanks Daniel for pointing that out - I was exposing for the whites and the light was still a bit strong at this time of day. May re process to bring out more of the darks - from memory the blacks were clipped in the original RAW file.
