What I love about this capture are the storm clouds in the BG which blew in as the sun was beginning to set behind me. Had difficulty isolating this Great Egret b/c there were so many birds on the island so had to extract a beak from the lower left corner in order to make this composition work. Had time for a few pictures before jumping in my kayak and paddling to shore.

Dug deep in my archives for this one as you can see by the 30D. At this time, I had never even shot in manual.

    Canon 30D, Canon 300L F4 IS
    F6.3, 1/3200sec, ISO 400, -.67, AV mode
    Handheld

C & C always welcomed and much appreciated.

A very nice image, Something quite different with this pose and OOF foreground. Good exposure on the whites , the grey BG sets him off well, Must sell my camera and look for a 30D.

Absolutely stunning. The light there was magnificent and you caught a pretty neat moment!

Excellent Marina your Photoshop skills are superb, those gentle colours in the head and the contrasting sky really make this an eye catching image.

Marina - Jack beat me to it - there's an elegance to this image. I too like the deep blue of the sky with the storm clouds. Also the fanned feathers add tremendously to the image.

Deep in your archive but I see you were still rockin' back then as you are now! I like the framing and composition on this one. I really like the clouds in the composition versus just a plain colored sky, adds a bit of interest.

So pretty and you caught it in prime plumage and color. I too love the coluds. I really like the composition/crop as well.

You had the right stuff back then too Marina, even in Av mode with a 30D!
