    Was able to photograph this guy yesterday afternoon at boynton beach. hope you like it.

    D300, 18-200VR at 200mm, f/10, 1/1250s, 0EV, ISO 800

    I like it and would have loved it had he bird been 50 feet lower! Good EXP control. A crop from the bottom would improve this as there is too much dead space there... Did you have that horrific east wind? Were the Gannets still around?

    One of my favorite wing positions for pelicans Harold Agree on wishing it was lower and the slight crop Love the eye contact !!!!

    thanks guys, and yes on the east wind and yes the gannets were around, but too far out to photograph. will try again today! how'd you know about the gannets?

    Like the picture a lot, nice eye detail.
    I think you forgot a dust spot on the right lower corner.

    Yes, the exposure control is perfect here...a nice shot. Beautiful wing detail.
