Ive enjoyed capturing Kingfisher take off's, so I thought I would try a take off of a different species from the water. This Black -bellied duck gave me a good wing position as he took off.

Wonderful take off captured with beautiful composition.
Love the wing stretch, great details in colors and BG. Flash of water adds to the beauty of image.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Very nice wing spread and water splash.
Would like to see all the water splash if you have it.
Light. IQ and sharpness are spot on.

Thanks Gail. I have more behind the splash, but thought it would push the duck more into the centre. Having said that, I do feel I have cut off the splash as is.

    Thanks Ken, Satish and Arash.

Great timing! I don't think the wings could be any more outstretched than they are right now. I'm always pleasantly amazed at the detail that you get out of the feathers for your shots. Keep em coming!

Good timing, Stuart. I understand your composition dilemma, but in this case, not sure that having the duck more centered would be a big issue for me because the splash adds so much.

Awesome,Stuart ! The fraction of a second that you shot later than I did produced so much better an image with the wing up position , giving superb details and display of colour.Great shot , great timing ,great light.

Thanks Sachin. I have some recent KF images with the Mark IV, but thought you guys were bored with the KF images too.

Thanks a stack for the feedback and comments everyone. Always appreciated.

Really nice, great timing. The bird is pin sharp and the colours are spot on. Dont suppose you can get down to water level in S Africa- large scaly things may pop out and drag you in, while your eye is pressed to the viewfinder.

Great to see you enjoying the MkIV, Stu. Great detail on the wings and I like the water BG. I saw this duck when I was at AR but didn't have any luck with co-operating in the light.
