Fast, small and one of my target images from the St Paul trip. Getting these guys in flight is tough. BG is the Bering sea.

Neat shot Alan. Never seen one of these before. Great detail in the feathers and nice capture of the head tilt!

Side note: is there an expected date on your Songbird DVD? I signed up for the email, but haven't heard anything in quite a few months. JW.

I like the HA on this guy.
The eye just draws you in. Good wing position. Great IQ, as usual and tack sharp.
Love the pop of orange with the grey tones.
I see a bit of noise in the near wing,
    Gail

Hey Miguel, I just sent out a newsletter announcing that the new eBook will be available in October. You might want to sign up for my newsletter to get the final announcement.

Cool pose and sharp as can be.
I too, see noise and not much detail in the wings, maybe a large crop?

    Hi Alan,

Another stunning capture. Excellent fight pose, IQ, details and head angle. Nice eye contact and that eye & beak really stands out in gray tone.

excellent light pose and head turn during flight. I see some noise too in the under wings.

I love the grey/black on grey, with the orange bill adding a touch of colour. Awesome HA. Conngrats on getting some of your target species!

Absolutely superb flight pose captured. Background colors are beautifully complimenting with the colors of Crested auklet. Love the details in colors and eye.

What a stunning bird, have never heard of these let alone seen one. THe head angle really is great-looks like he is weighing you up. The colours and sharpness look spot on , I am new to giving full critiques and have not got the eye of the rest when it comes to noise- will have to see what is said about my next post - I think is shows noise on the large version but will be interested to see what shows on the web version.
All in all i really like this , both the subject and the capture. well done

Funny little legs huh? I like the grey sky for this bird as a nice slight head turn
