    Default High Plains fence

I started with Pixel Bender, oil paint, using different opacities for the foreground and the background. I replaced a plain sky with a bit of clouds and adjusted with PS gradients at very low opacity. Then some of the regular PS tools of curves, saturation, etc.

This is just part of a fence that is still standing in a lovely high mountain park area that I try to visit yearly. Out here "park" means a plains-like area between mountains.

Subtle sky. Nice composition and form. Perfect for the theme, but also, says "The West" to me.

Thank you all! And Mitch, I'm glad you see "the West" in this image. Everywhere I hike around here I find remnants of old fences, but most are dangerous strands of twisted and rusted barbed wire as many of the wooden fences have decayed away.

Very nice. I like how the fence curves upward, following the lay of the land. Strong diagonal lines add tension. Lovely light on the fence. Limited colors brings unity to the image. Your low angle of view elevated the fence. Lovely work.

Beautifully pixel bended Nancy! Love the look. Up here we have mostly page-wire fencing between the farm fields but there are still a few of the old cedar rail fences lining some of the fields. The problem is some folks steal the cedar rails for edging their gardens and such.
