    I couldn't resist the sweet, morning light in this case. I took the position I did so that the subject would fall nicely in the mid-ground color while framed by the differentiating foreground and background colors.

    1D MkIII
    500 f/4 + 1.4x
    1/640 @ f/13 in Av mode
    + 1/3 EV
    ISO 800
    Processed in LR4 with clean-up in CS6.
    Ft. DeSoto, FL

    Awesome low angle, sharp and nice pose. Would suggest using smaller wider aperture and faster shutter speed in similar situations.

    Lovely capture, David, with terrific details, pose and great low angle. I like the fact that I can see the Godwit's feet which so often isn't the case. Agree with Ofer about the aperture. I was a bit surprised by the F13 esp when it appears you were only photographing one subject.

    Nice feeding pose, I like that we can see a morsel in bewteen the mandibles' tips. Good exposure and colours, perfect sharpness. F/13 worked well, but yes, a larger aperture would have smoothed out the FG and FG/BG separation nicely.

    I think I shot this same guy a couple seeks ago.Nice low angle and detail David.
