    Default sad corn blur

This is my first attempt at blurring. I wanted to take a photo of our sad corn situation here in southern Illinois. As far as you can see in the corn fields, you see brown, dead stalks--the kind you'd expect to see in the fall after harvest. Instead, this is the height of the corn season, and there is no corn....only dead stalks due to the drought. I thought that just cornstalks might be boring, so I tried to do a blur just to give the effect.

Hazel, I really like the soft blurred look and the rich colors. I'm glad you thought to go for a blur, you created a beauty here. What were your camera settings?

Hazel, I'm glad you're venturing into blurs - they're fun! I think I'd remove the green on the lower edge but that's just me. Nice job

Nice blur Hazel! I like the colors. That's what you call making the best of a bad situation.

I rode up to Tupelo today and all the acres of crops along the way - peanuts and soybeans mostly - were nice and green thank goodness. I guess we'll get a fair amount of rain from Isaac soon, it's already cloudy.

Thanks, Judy. Hope you are all ok with the storm. We see terrible reports on the weather channel. I selfishly can't help but be grateful my son and family moved this summer from Hattiesburg. Take care.
