Common but one of my favorite birds.
Almost full frame, I wish I would have been further away, but it landed right in front of me.

They may be common where you live but not for everyone. i think they are our most beautiful "common" bird and not that easy to photograph, my favorite too. This is a good looking one and I like the ferns in the background.

Nice shot. HA is good and details are sharp. Beautiful blue on this guy. I too like the fern in the BG. Good Job.... ISO 1600 as a base, nice.

Nice pose HA and details, Dan.
The lighting wasn't the best as the bird is in the shadow and the background is lit.
Typical case for using fill flash unless you don't like to use it as a few shooting friends of mine don't.

Magnificent image of beautiful bird.I like composition,though I would prefere some space in front of bird.
Love the pose with open beak,lights and details in blues.
