For my 3000th I thought I would post one of my all time favorite birds. Not as good as some of the other Avocets I have seen here , but it was my only opportunity, to date , to photograph this elegant bird.
Hope to get a few more chances somewhere along the line , perhaps with some better light.
Congrats, Joe, what a milestone! And lovely image to mark it. Such a beautiful bird indeed and I love the pose you have captured. I like how the blues of the legs go so well with that blue background. Might like a touch more room behind the avocet. Wonderful portrait.

Very nice bird, I like the vertical comp you chosen here. Nice and sharp. Maybe a little too blue as far as WB goes, at least on the subject. I fine image overall...and here's too 3K more posts
Congratulations on your 3K milestone. I like the pose, sharpness and HA. I find it a little tight and a little grainy at the top. Still a beauty as presented Joe.

Hi Joe, a huge congrats on your milestone, and thanks for your participation on the site. Love the stately pose, and nicely seperated from the water BG. Agree on a little more room behind, infact trying a horizontal comp will work too.
