Default [Test] Mallard with new Canon EF600/4 l IS II USM EX 1.4xIII

Only a Mallard, but the first picture with the new lens for me always something special.

Congrats on the new lens! You're going to love it! Super sharpness, nice eye contact and a pretty BG. I like that the bill doesn't merge with the feathers.

    Frank:

Congrats on the fine new glass. Agree with Doug on the techs. A bit more DOF to get more of the breast in focus would have been nice.

    Cheers

Frank, this is incredibly sharp...Excellent details and eye contact...did you do MA? or it works just fine out of the box..

Look Sachin, this version is out of the box, not sharpened.

Hi Frank, congrats on your new lens, and may it produce lots of keepers. Good lookback pose, tack sharp, and I like the various colours on the head. Another vote for wishing for more DOF.

To say I am envious is an understatement! Congrats on this lens, Frank. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Great sharpness straight out of the camera.
