I photographed this Marbled Godwit during a visit to Fort de Soto at the end of last month. It was photographed feeding along the coast shoreline. First time I have visited there and surely will not be my last. Very unique wildlife and landscape area. Thanks for looking and C&C is always welcome.

A lovely image, like the beak just breaking the surface, sharp and good light control

Sharp with good detail and nice low angle. The low shutter speed caused some motion blur on the beak.

    Josh:

Lovely soft colors, good shooting angle, like the gentle wave action, good flash use.

I would have thought about pushing up the ISO just a bit to get more shutter speed flexibility.

I would prefer a smaller sig, off to the corner, so it doesn't detract from the image.

    Cheers

Exposure looks good, as do the details. Nice low angle and I like the breaking wave, especially cool is the bit wrapped around the lower mandible. I too would have gone for a higher SS to freeze the movement of the bill. Glad you got some good subjects...Ft. Desoto rocks!!

My favorite thing about this capture are all the delicate details in the water...foam and bubbles! Your low angle really paid off here. Nice exposure and good details in your bird. The slightly blurred beak doesn't detract too much but I frankly don't see a need to photograph any bird at an ISO less than 400 except under special circumstances. Sorry you had a slow day out there, but awfully glad you ran into this guy!!!

Such a beautiful bird and lovely capture here, Josh. Just love your low angle, of course. Wish for more shutter speed so bill was sharp. I never really shoot below 500 ISO myself, and am usually at 640 or 800 as I want to always be ready for action (though I guess if I were using my 7D I might stay lower than that due to noise issue). But overall a wonderful image.
