    Default Scarlet Robin #2

Another Scarlet Robin from early morning in a local eucalypt woodland nature reserve.

Following comments on my previous robin image, I've tried to get more detail in the blacks by lowering contrast. I usually use Photoshop, but this was processed with the Canon bundled Digital Photo Professional.

    Canon 40D, EF500IS + 1.4tc, 580EX flash + gold diffuser, fec 0, ec 0, partial metering, ISO400, 1/250, f/13, vertical crop from horizontal image

OUtstanding image Simon. Maybe a tad more room behind it, but only a tad.

Very lovely. Love how the tail fits into the notch in the perch. Sharp and great EXP. I think that you could go a bit lighter on the blacks of the face without it going muddy. Wonderful bird and perfect head angle. Keep 'em coming!

Great image Simon, particularly the exposure control...these guys are so easy to blow highlights on. Sweet background and light. I think you could get away with a tad lighter on the face, but other than that spot on. Top work.

Lovely, but you need to open up the blacks, they are too dark and hurting the image.
