On my trip in April I stopped off so that my group could photograph some highland hummingbirds. Those of you familiar with my work know I like a good perch when I can get one. I spent some time searching the area and came up with this one that I thought was pretty cool. The lichens got a bit hot. But I still thought it was pretty cool :)

Amazing how different this species looks in different light, headcrown and gorget lovely.
Its long beak was going to cause small issue with DOF as you know, and their bills are pretty long!.
I find the perch wonderful; I always like to examoine the intricate little plants and stuuf on the trees and perches, probably more than the bird
perhaps could be sharpened a little more but as usual a really nice shot from you (again :-))
Perfect result on that iridescent head and gorget. Beautiful interesting perch but I think it could be toned down just a fraction. A very nicely composed and attractive image.
