    Arash,

This is a wonderful shot, even more remarkable in HD. Great pose, great BG but most of all the face

Wonderful pose, light, and colours, but to me the focus is not on the head, and seems to be more towards the back of the bird

Yes to wonderful. Love the eyes, the face, the feet, the furry little prey item, the bit of red, the fanned tail, the slight tilt of the wings, and the background. You might consider eliminating some of the soft green below the bird's left wing to give it a bit more clearance.

Stunning! The beauty of this bird is making my brain crazy! Also: the more graphic the better, I say! In the interest of natural history and all...

Really nice, the habitat and the prey really make this one special.
The DOF at 5.6 seems really good, the tip of the tail feathers as sharp as the beak!

Fantastic incoming flight shot, Arash. Love the light, eye contact, sharpness, details and fanned tail.

    thanks everyone!

Dan, these are very small raptors (my guess is this one was 12" at most) so you can fit the entire body inside DOF at about 25 yards.

The shot, as good as it is in principle, is a tad oversharpened and somewhat overprocessed in the way of saturation giviing the whole exposure a slight cartoony appearance.

Might I suggest your your next post you go easy on the saturation slider and keep it more natural and hence more real.

I'd also like to see a wider crop that included more background rather than what you've chosen here, to me places this fantastic looking raptor into a cage.

    Apart from that well done.

Richard thanks for your comments but the image has not been saturated as you suggest. It is natural and real. I don't saturate my photos but thanks.

Agree with previous comments - this posted size doesn't do justice to the HD version. Remarkable shot, as well as the action - the red color/blood may be too much for some, but I think it really adds to the shot quite a bit.

Killer image, Arash! Most people don't realize how difficult a head on shot against a varied bg can be. Well done!
