    Default Black-winged Stilts

Taken on my first outing with the new camera. Stilts close to 100 meters away so it's a 66% crop.

not bad for a quick try, the light was quite harsh and the fine details are lacking tho

    Better luck next time :)

You really wouldn't expect fine detail from such a small bird at 100 meters surely?

that is exactly why you don't shoot avian photos when birds are 100 meters away ;)

Beautiful Shot Richard.Love the sequence the birds are placed in.Nice work. The bird is sharp and for 100 meters away this is the best one can get.

Nice capture, Richard. Nice to have three in the frame and all three look sharp. The sharpest being the one in the water.

    Richard:

I like the varied poses without merges, the green in foreground and background, as it adds additional 'depth' to the image.

Yes, the light was harsh, which is particularly challenging with black and white birds.

Look forward to more from your new camera.

    Cheers
