    Default Maasai series #2

Perhaps a little more of a regular kind of image from me, but it does fit into the theme of the work I'm doing at the moment. Undecided on the title as it will depend where in the series it fits. All the images have to have a moody, textured feel, melancholy even. I have 3 finished now, apart from some minor adjustments so will be interested in how this one is received.

I should add that I have around 4 which I've had to bin because they were just beyond awful.

This is a composite of 2 images with 2 blended textures.

Hilary, it is melancholy. I love the texturing and the subject. I might open up the shadows just a tad in the dark area a little above your name but it might be my monitor. I love the touches of red in his clothing and the blue in the sky. Nice work

    Nice image and application, Hilary.

Like the scene and the effect. Agree with Cheryl on the dark areas, which are just a little beyond for me, but Y.I.Y.V.

    Otherwise it looks great.

Wonderful scene and nice texture and I like the red clothing too. I agree with opening up the darker areas a little.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at the dark hole on the left and it does have detail in the large file which certainly has been lost here. When I go to print I'll make sure that the detail is retained so thanks for drawing my notice to it.

Hilary, I really like the feel of this. There is a slight tension with the red that really adds to this. I like it as presented. Nicely done.

Agree with the above. The emptiness of the trees (stick-like limbs) adds to the woefulness of the image. Yet the red give a glint of hope (?) not too bright, but there.

I love this as presented. I think you've accomplished the look you were after. The red garment gives a wonderful element of hope and enlightenment in an otherwise desolate scene. Beautifully done!

Wow, I love the mood in this. The light is great. Nice processing. Two images? It all works together.
