Beautiful bird Dan! Looks a little oversaturated (especially the reds) on my monitor. The bird looks a little tight in the frame too. Lastly the far right of the perch is a little distracting because it's so out of focus compared to the rest of the image. What part of the country do you live in that you get to see these guys?

Great subject and nice background. Wish there was little space around the bird.

Hey Doug, thanks for the comments. Lafayette, La is home. We get them moving through as well as resident nesting pairs. We sure enjoy your part of the world, try to make at least one pilgrimage to Bosque aroung Christmas.

It never ceases to amaze me the colours found in these little birds - just brilliant!!
I would desaturate the reds a little as some detail there is lost. Also would like to see a bit more space around the subject - looks a bit cramped as is. Still a beautiful image!

Beautiful bird. As others have said, comp is a tad tight and the reds could be desaturated some to bring out a little more feather detail there. That withstanding, I'd love to have this in my collection.

Wonderful bird. Excellent subject to film plane juxtaposition and head angle. Yes to too tight, mega-over SATed, harsh light, poorly angled perch... Is this a feeder set-up? Did you do some PS work on the right side of the perch???
