Although we consider these Egyptian geese common, annoying, and loud, they always seem to produce great inflight, or incoming poses. This was taken at my local pond 2 weekends ago.

Looking good Stuart. Like the wing spread, raised feet, and pointed head. Not that you needed it but glad to see you got a new camera to play with.

Stunnig shot. I just love the wing position, wonderful light, the calm water makes a great background, and excellent feather detail.
    Well done.

He he, what you describe about this species is similar to our Canada Goose here :-) Excellent pose, colours, techs. Not crazy about the darkish band directly underneath the subject (wondering what caused that?), but all else looks super.

Killer landing pose and light, Stuart. The BG really complements the bird.

    Stuart:

Sharp, well exposed, love the feet up pose. I was concerned when looking at the thumbnail that the head /body merge wouldn't work well, but in the full size image, there is good separation.

    Cheers

Your shots always seem to have so much great detail - this is no different. Would be nice if the head were just a little bit higher, but that is nitpicking. Wing detail is top-notch.
