I like the way this came out, even if my wide angle lens was a 500 F4.
I could lighten the face area easily but kind of like the more silohuete view of the bear.

    Stan:

I like it, the crop, subject placement, spit of land and BG.

I could see a version with the saturation increased slightly.

    Cheers

    I like this too, Stan.
The shaded trees works well to make the bear pop.
Why 1/8000??? I know you know that you could've traded some of that for ISO?
I would also like to see a hint more saturation as well as some dodging on the face of the bear (for my tastes)

    Stan,

I like this "in environment" shot, looks good to me. Were you hand-holding?

    Stan,

Check the techs as the exposure seems way off.

    I agree with Morkel's comments.

Hi Stan, I too like the position in frame, likewise good choice on crop. The only thing I might add is some more USM to the bear along with Morkels comments. Can't comment on colour, as it's an RGB file and therefore colours can vary when viewed.

    Nice thinking Stan.

    Good comments as usual.
Morkel, you caught me being lazy as I was primarily shooting bears in another area where I needed the speed and just moved the wimberly head when I noticed this one in the distance the opposite direction. Had I reduced the ISO it could have been a little crisper.
Robert, the exposure is correct as with the pano crop I removed all lake where the polarized reflection was high causing the need for high speed.
I will add some more sharpening. lighten the face, and some a tweak of saturation.
Steve, I'm not sure what is happening. I added change profile to sRGB in my action, and it's checked on my save for web. When I pull the jpeg back into CS5 it says it's a sRGB. Any ideas from you tech wizards as to what may be happening?

FWIW, my CS2 says image "does not have an embedded RGB profile"

    Hi Stan,
like the image as OP is, but maybe lifting the darks would help a bit .
