Default Brown-hooded Parrot in the Rain

I spent a fair amount of time trying to do flight photography on my last Costa Rica workshop. Invariably the rain would come, but rain can make for some really cool images. This Brown-hooded Parrot was coming in for a wet-weather landing when I captured him in flight. Not a lot of shutter speed for a fast flier, so the sharpness could be a little better. But I still like the frame.

Very nice wing positions and blur, making the most of those incredible colours. That head looks pretty sharp to me! Nice atmosphere.

I can see why you like this.
For me ,it is all about the great colors.
eye and face are sharp so wing blur is fine,

Wonderful colors, Doug, and it's amazing how the BG matches the bird so well. Like the raindrops and the hanging feet.

    Doug:

Very fine, rain drops, slightly dark exposure, action, wing blur, all work here. I can almost feel the jungle from here.

    Cheers

I love the color and the flight position.
Very attractive bird and BG and the rain.
A tad more NR would look nice to me, but I realize that it is also easy to blur the raindrops.
Very nice for the light conditions and I think the SS actually made the image better.
    I like the blurred wings.

Superb colors, and great sharpness given your SS. I like the wing blur here, and the raindrops. Great comp too.
