This is the meaning of the bear totem:

    "Caution, Healing, Leadership

The power of the Bear totem
    is the power of introspection.
The answers to all our questions
    lie within us.
Each of us has the capacity to quiet the mind,
    enter the silence and know."

I used Topaz Adjust 5, solarized dreams, a fractalius layer on the bear, and several Pixel Bender oil paint layers on the bear and the bkgd individually and together, blended with various opacities.

Nancy, I love this - it is so creative! I love the colors and the metallic look you've rendered with the filtering and the meaning of the bear totem is wonderful. I think I would take a slice off the bottom so the grasses are on the edge. But it doesn't matter - it's a great combination of filters.

Thank you everyone! I've been looking for a way to use solarized dreams. This is a young bear that visited my yard early this spring and I liked his body shape for this image. Cheryl, I see what you mean about cropping just a bit off the bottom to give more effect to the vertical lines. I'll try that version.

Nice effect. Would make a great poster with the "bear totem" quote.

Fantastic image! Great composition. This doesn't relate to the wonderful image; I can hardly read your description. The fonts are way too small and blue doesn't have enough contrast with the background. regards~Bill
