    Dan:

Nice colors, well exposed, cute pose.
It doesn't look sharp to me however. Perhaps a side effect of the downsizing, but nothing in the image seems to be in focus, and you had plenty of shutter speed. f/7.1 is near the sweet spot for that lens, so don't think that is it. Can you verify your focus point?

    Cheers

Nice pose and colors. Lovely bg. I had the same reaction as Randy - thought it looked like motion blur but 1/2000 should be OK.

The posted version does not look as sharp as the larger version, could be the downsizing? I have not had the chance to fine tune the focus with this D800 and the 80-400mm. Maybe that is the cause?

Really liking the perch with the lichen. The colors are gorgeous and nice pose. Definitely a sharpening issue with this one. He has the cutest little toes!

There is a big difference between this posted image and the one on smugmug, which is quite a bit sharper. The demure look is darling.

I like it overall but I would have preferred the eye opened and more detail on the tail. Nice perch, BG, and vertical comp.
