Default Black Bellied Plover with morsel

From Jamaica Bay this evening with some Long Island friends where we ran into Artie. Birds were rather scarce and skiddish but there's always something to photograph there. This bird landed briefly and afforded me a couple images before flying off. I removed a bit of another bird from the right side and cropped this one leaving probably 75%.

Lovely light, good low angle, sharp with excellent detail and sweet pose. Would tone down the area on the chest.

A real stunner, Grace. The light is simply over the top and your low angle offers such a super BG. Love the little tidbit in the beak. Agree on a slight burn on the chest. The raised foot with the drop of mud is a nice touch as well.

Great light, low angle, BG, mud drop falling off the foot. This fella looks surprised at your presence!

Hi Grace, just love the light and overall colours in this, and you timed your shutter perfectly to capture the raised foot and mud droplet. Of course, the food item adds that something extra.

Wonderful, Grace! I love the pose, the light, and your fantastic low angle. Looks like it was worth the visit to JB!

excellent pose light and sharp details. I would add more space to the bottom and subtract from the top a bit

Thanks everyone...Arash, I will try your suggestion as I have more room on the bottom. While I would like the bird higher in the frame, the more I looked at that bottom, the less I liked what it was adding to the image. But if you aren't bothered by it, I'll amend. Thanks!

Grace, this is simply stunning capture...Love the low angle, details, HA, BG and that sweet light. I am hopeful to get there soon and get some good opportunities.

Where did you take this from? North or South end of East pond?
