Stunning bird and capture, Jan. The colors are outstanding, and the perch and BG are nice. I like the bird's pose very much. I would consider taking a little canvas off of the top to make the photo a tad more of a true vertical.

Wonderful colors on the bird and backdrop, liking the look over the shoulder, agree with Marina regarding cropping a bit more off the top

Spectacular image. I love how the bg colors compliment those of the subject. Agree with Marina & Phil's complimentary comments and the critique relative to the crop.

    Hi Jan,

Beautiful bird and capture. I really liked colors on the bird, look back pose, BG, perch and details. One more vote for cropping from top.

I agree with the crop suggestion ... and if you go that route, I would consider painting in (with <10% opacity) some of the bg color into the sky so that there is a more gradual blend. Meaning, I'm not sure how well the blue will be received if the crop is tighter from the top.

nice pose and details I would go for a standard 2:3 vert portrait crop here

I agree with the crop suggestion, vertical works well otherwise. Beautiful colours, BG, perch. Too bad the foot and perch tip are in the shade.
