    Default Juvenile Dunnock in fog

    Hi,
I found this cute juvenile Dunnock was laying on the sandy surface in Mazichal & playing with sands.Mazichal is a wild dense forest in the northern Aloborz mountains in north of IRAN & is a dreamy place for landscape photographers, But I like it for it's diversity of passerines.
Mazichal is usually surrounded by fog. For this shot, I had a small Opportunity when the fog was going down for seconds. I decided to take some shots without flash. So boost the ISO to 1600 & now you can see the result. Wish you like it.

    Hello Mohsen:

Thank you for posting and sharing some information about this location. It's always nice to learn about where other photographers are making their captures and the circumstances they must deal with. Colors and details in the bird look very good, and I like seeing it against that contrasting background which really depicts its environment. You picked a good composition and I like that you captured him with a small pebble in his beak b/c it adds interest to the photo. I have tried a different crop which you may wish to consider. Since I find the green in the upper right a tad distracting, I took some off of the right and top and think you may like it.

Good feather detail with nice contrast in color and texture between the pebble background and the subject. The pebble in the beak is special. I agree with Marina concerning the crop.

I have come to realize one of the unexpected benefits of Bird Photographers is the opportunity to see flora and fauna from around the world. A quick web search and read about Dunnocks and the Mazichal region of Iran was a bonus for me. The Mazichal appears to be a beautiful area. Most of the on line images of the area include the fog you mentioned in your post. Mohsen, thanks for sharing.
