Common Tern Chick
Took this shot of a Common Tern Chick @ Nickerson Beach. This chick was calling out for his dad for food.
Nikon D300s, Nikon 300mm f2.8 + TC 14e , 1/2000S , f/4, ISO-200, Manual Exposure .This is almost 40% of the Original.
Thanks

Sanjeev,
Very cute with a great pose. I am hoping someone will come up with some good suggestions for lightening the face a little

Nice pose and timing. The strong side light is causing the backside of this little guy to be a bit dark. I usually use some fill flash which would add some light to the shadows. Nice job maintaining the whites in his chest area.

Great action with the airborne grains of sand. The whites are under control with good feather detail. Unfortunately the eye is in the shadows. Fill flash may have helped. I read some where that one should consider in order three variables before taking a shot. Namely light, background and lastly subject.

Somebody pull the thorn out of juniors foot please, his screaming is driving me crazy lol
Love it, what a character, but yes, more light on the head would be nicer

nice calling pose, the main issue here is the harsh light

The pose and foot stomping are quite entertaining and good job on the low angle, but the light angle and obvious clone marks at top are two issues that jump out.

Thank you all for your comments & critiques.Highly appreciate it.
I do agree that the light is too harsh on this one and wished that I had used Fill Flash. This is one among a series of frames that I shot. The chick would turn itself in either direction searching for its mom.I liked this shot more in comparison to others as the Shrilling expression with a raised foot adds to the story. Here's one shot just 4 frames apart from the above where the face is properly exposed.
