Very pretty pose, combined with good exposure and sharpness. The water color really complements the bird. I'm wondering what the vertical white line is in the grebe's reflection in the middle of the frame.

Great angle, light and details. I'm not too fond of swimming away images but the head turn helps here. It needs some CCW rotation.

I think despite the fact it is swimming away, the turned head is what makes this image work so nicely.

Agree about the left rotation and I wonder what the white line in the reflection is as well. Maybe a touch more USM on the head or eye would pop it.

    Alexander,
You have a very nice composition and image. Love the colors and the eye is to die for...:D
I'm seeing a white vertical line in the duck's reflection; don't know what that could be...
In addition, I recommend leveling the subject counter clock wise, he looks like he is swimming up hill:eek: The rest is great..
CONGRATS on a lovely image... :D

Nice rich colors and smooth texture. Good sharpness. Agree on a little CCW tilt.

Thanx for the commenst and indeed i have to level the picture a little. The thin line was mad by the partner of this little grebe when she passed by.

    Greetings.
