Default A Quick Check under the Hood

One day I decided to try something different with the Roseate Spoonbills. They were quite close to me and the light had already gotten a bit harsh. I put on my 2x TC and went for the not so obvious capture. I like how this juvie's head is just above the water and how it appears to be curiously checking its underpinnings. This was full frame except for a slight crop to straighten the horizon.

Feisol tripod, Jobu head, down very low

Curious about your thoughts on this one. Thank you for looking.

    Marvelous portrait with lovely composition.
I like the pose with head just above the water.Colors of beak, legs and feathers are well complimenting to each other, keeping nice balance in the image.
Love beautiful pink colors feathers with nice reflection of water on it.Excellent details in pinks and whites with nice sharpness.I like the Bg too with ripples of water at bottom.

    Satish.

    Hi Marina,

It's really an unique composition. What I liked most is the way head is close to water without touching it. Techs are perfect.

Very effective use of the 2x Marina. Intimate portrait with excellent sharpness and a perfect exposure. You'd never know the light was harsh. Cute title!

This is what I call good photography. When the circumstances aren't ideal and you have a challenge to deal with....like this one. You managed pretty well, Marina. Love the compo, the pose and exposure. Good job.

Just fantastic, Marina. Creative, captivating. The head almost touching the water is where I most want to focus my attention. Very well done.

I really like this portrait shot Marina. Great thinking and good eye. The water color makes this Spoonie pop nicely.

I really like this shot. It's totally differenton the pose. I love how the head just touches to the water and the blue color of the water at the legs. Really nice
