I have a bunch of images of OCs doing all kinds of cool stuff but just loved the light on this one. Canon EOS 1DMK4, 600mm, ISO 640, f/5.6, SS 1/1000. Shot at Nickerson beach in NY.

    Nick:

Yes,lovely light, nice shooting angle, colors, sharpness.

    Good comp.

The only minor thing I might consider would be to clone out the light areas above the back and tail. I know it is just the extension of the shoreline, but it might be a bit cleaner without it above the back/tail.

    Cheers

Lovely low angle and warm light, Nick. Looks like the bird has been pretty successful foraging from that bulging crop. Water droplet on the breast is a nice detail.

Thanks everyone. Yes Randy good advice regarding those bright spots, I really see them now that you mentioned it. There is one in front of the birds neck as well, I will try to fix them.

Great Shot of the Oyster Catcher,Nick. Beautiful light and the details show up well. The head turn and looking towards you is a major plus IMO.
