On the Run...
For last couple of years I could only see glimpse of Semipalmated plovers once in a while on our photo shoots. But never got opportunity to photograph them...This year I am lucky to have few good images of this bird in my profile.
I like the colors as they have not lost their breeding plumage completely. I wish for higher SS to avoid motion blur on leg but this is best I could manage.
Canon 7D | 700mm | 1/800 | f/7.1 | ISO 500 | Manual | On lowered Tripod
PP: Rotated, Nr, sharpening and beak and BG cleanup. (Not sure if I should keep the grass in FG LLC)
Hope you all like this. C&C most welcome.

Maya:
Sharp, like the foot up pose, low shooting angle, am OK with the slight leg blur, great eye contact.
I would certainly try a version with the grass cloned out.
If you have color efex pro, I would run a little detail extractor on the whites to see if there is a bit more texture available there.
Interesting about the rotation. It does look like he is going down a gentle slope, which is OK, and perhaps gives a bit more sense of motion than a dead level version. It would be educational to try it completely level and see if it changed your feeling about the sense of action.
Cheers

I quickly tried the rotation and cloned the LLC grass in FG but do not have efex pro and I doubt there is any texture in whites on neck as it looks burnt to me. Here is the re post.

Personally, I liked the corrected version better. Thanks for your suggestion Randy.

Like the re-post much better. Did you try to recover the whites in Lightroom or ACR? Love the low angle and the foot up position.

Such a cutie. I like the head turn, eye contact and the raised foot, Maya.

Great pose on this bird Maya. I too prefer the repost. I might be inclined to crop a little tighter (maybe a little of the top and left). I agree with the assessment of the whites - to my eye there is very little evident highlight detail and it would be worth revisiting the conversion / processing.

Thanks everyone for kind words. Actually, earlier I forgot to recover highlights. Here is an attempt to recover it and I also played with levels. Let me know how you like this one.
