    Sanderling and Short Billed Dowticher foraging together. The sanderling seemed to be trying to push the dow out of his way. Light quality was poor, but I felt the behavior warranted sharing with you and keeping the image. Opinions welcome.

    I removed a few of the snails from above the birds' heads and removed many from my tripod.

    Grace,

    I like for the behavior, the color and all of those snails. I might consider removing more of the out of focus snails in the background.

    Grace;

    I like the interaction, and that component adds a lot to the image. Enjoy the size differences displayed so well, them both being in same plane of focus. I do agree with Laurie that a bit more smoothing of BG would be nice.

    Cheers

    Hi Grace, the first thing I notice in this is the huge size difference between the two species. Good low perspective, and I like how both are in the feeding process. The central placement works well, and I feel you have just the right amount of space all round. I miss my marine birds, but I am 600km from the nearest sea.

    Great interaction with story being told by a single image. I too would remove a few more snails from the Bg. The ones that are way far back.

    Gorgeous shot Grace, I really like the presence of more species in the same frame.

    The image has a lot of value with both species showing so well, and so nice to see in contrast
    of one another. Great transitional plumaged adults. The setting with the snails is unique.
