    Default Black Beauty Bathing Fract

I created this Fract starting with Glow 100 and tons of tweaking on both the upper and lower set of controls. Then a Layer Mark to reveal the eye from the original. To create a nice final Fract you need to start with a good image (you can see the original in Avian here), then you need to decide which Fract (or personal) pre-set might make the image sing, and lastly, you need to fine tune things in Photoshop.

Don't be shy; all honest comments welcome.

Beautiful original capture Artie, I might reduce the white glow around the head just a little as it seems just a little thick. Nice blue tones in the background and the clear eye is great!

Thanks Denise, I will try that when I have some time. Not sure why but Photoshop took about 20 minutes to crank out the TIFF....

I am a huge fan of Fractalius and I love how it makes the water move and sparkle around the bird. I also like how the lines on the red bill lead to the red eye and then softly radiate out on the head. I do agree with Denise about the thickness of the white around the head. I often run into this with Glow and am not sure how to reduce the size of just one line when the rest is so perfect.

Artie, I love the dark blues which make it look like night with stars all around. Love the fract work, the thick line has been noted.

I guess I have strange taste, but I rather like the thick "mane" around the bird. What I like most about this image is the area on the right hand side above the bird. The fract effect there is beautiful.

    Artie,

I am going to agree with Maureen. I like the thick line on the head and neck of the bird and also the stars on the right but maybe a few on the left would be good too for balance. I like your Out of the box version much better than the original. I wish I had Fractalius, it looks like a lot of fun.

Hi Artie, this is a fun and interesting image. I like the way the OC blends in with the water and environment with all the bright glow. Love that eye!

Hi Arthur, a little late to this one but I love the fract work on this one. I especially like the way the lines are radiating out from the eye. I don't mind the heavy amount of white around the head and neck. I think it may help to define the bird more.
