This one is definitely a bit different. What do you think? I wish the setting sun was more to the right of frame.

    Gail:

I like the concept, but completely agree, the sun needs to be offset from the bird for my tastes. It would both help with the composition and help the apparent brightness of the bird.

Nice shooting angle and beautiful colors.

    Hi Gail,
It is a very nice sunset picture with bird, that I really like. You and Randy are both right that the sun is kind of too centered and too close to the bird.
I don't know if you could have done anything about it, probably not.

    Gail,

I think this is a beautiful photo. I like the sun in the middle, rather than on the right.

I do love the colors of the sand, sky and the sun in pastels with the birds black and orange/red color contrasting it.

I really like what you were going for here. Love the color palette and all the details in the sand. The BLSK looks well exposed and the eye is visible. It may not be what you envisioned but it's quite unique, and I would be pretty happy.

    Hi Gail,

I like Pics like this. Very artistic. I like to look outside the box and find something unique like a nice setting like this one. Nice colors. I like how it blends from sand to pink sky. I like the sun where it is. Its centers the comp. as the bird is offset. Good Eye!!

Hi Gail, great low perspective, and well done on the exposure on the Skimmer, especially looking into the sun. Love the pastel colours in the sky. Having the sun to the right would have been first prize, but I feel it still works as is. Well seen.

Very tough image to get right with exposure, but loving it especially for it being a little different. I think I too would prefer the sun slightly offset. Really really lovely colors in this image Gail. Would of liked to see the eye clearer, but as i say very difficult to do that and get the rest so nice.....kudos for a really different and 99% perfect image

Truly lovely, Gail. Composition works perfectly. I would encourage you to take more and more shots in this vein. It's that semi-circular dip of pinkness that surrounds the sun, yes, that's what makes it for me. Somewhat evocative too, and what's more important in art than evocativeness?

I like the perspective here. The centrally placed Sun shows that it has a very important role to play in sustaining living beings on Planet. The Dominant nature of the Sun is well defined here.Nicely Composed.

I really like what you're going for here, Gail. Lovely colors that work so well together, and just a serene, and as Jack says, evocative feeling to it. Always nice to see something a little different and you've done a great job here.

I too, would have loved the sun to be moved a bit, but this is a very nice attempt at something different.
    Nice work and creativity.
