Wish I could have been higher for a better angle. Decided to leave the thorns, thought they added to the overall image. Feel free to disagree.

    Hi Paul,
I like your image, it has a nice baby blue sky which makes your subject stand out; however, the bird is too centered in the frame, and he looks a little soft. I took the liberty in making a few corrections such as cropping a little from the left of the frame to off set your bird, I kicked up the contrast just a little, did a little hue saturation on the bird and a wee bit of sharpening...:D oh yes; I cloned out that half circle of thorns poping up from the bottom of the frame because it was taking attention away from your subject... See if you like it...

I like the repost more, minus the halos, although I would still crop some off the top :)

    Hi Robert,
What halos? I don't see any; I moved my laptop around and can't pick them up...
    Please advise...:)

    Halos?
On the small white branches, the birds white tail feathers, and the bird's bill and back and most of all the birds fine feathers. I do this type of thing for a living so I am very sensitive to it. :)
It would be interesting to see what everyone else thinks. Sometimes I see things that really stand out and no one says a thing other than me, but as I mentioned I am used to looking for these types of things.

I think maybe a contrast level between the two posts would be best. And yes, there are halos on the repost. Particularly noticeable when shadow/black meets the sky, e.g. under the beak, below the twigs and under the back wing tip. I like your crop Gus, but I think more room on the right or less on the top would be even better.

Thank you Robert and Leroy for your instruction...:) I learned now to fine tune on these little abnormalities...Now I know what to look for...:D Leroy; I was tempted to crop from the top, but I left it alone...

    Thanks guys...:D

Could be my screen but the repost looks over-sharp. I do like the crop in the repost, but I still have a thing for my original. I tend to shy away from some of the standard stuff as far as crops/etc. I guess it's just me personally but I don't mind a little something going on in an image with a bird in it (except distracting stuff behind a bird like bright highlights, etc)...
