    Default Yellow Warbler fledging ?

Managed to take 2 image of the little fellow, not much for IQ or composition mind you!. He was quite curious, but as soon as he saw my eye through the lens, he vanished!

I think it's a yellow warbler, since there are a few other yellow warblers in the same bush.

Taken on the southeast coast of New Brunswick, Canada.

    TIA!

I think this is a Common Yellowthroat. The dark uppersides contrasting with the yellowish undersides, no sign of yellowish wingbars (as compared to the yellow primary edging it does show), the strong contrast between cheek and throat, and the hint of white around the eye all point that way over Yellow Warbler. Yellows give me the impression of having big button eyes which this bird doesn't show.

Thanks Paul! I would be very surprised that it would be a CYT, but it could very well be. I've been birding in this location all summer and I've never seen one there. There are a lot of swamp sparrows, song sparrows, yellow warblers, blue jays, Osprey, Hawks, Bobolinks, but I've never actually seen a CYT there at all!

I do see where you are coming from though, it sure sounds like it could be one!

    Thanks again,

    Charles.

BTW, from the intensity of the yellow in the throat and the primary edges I think this might be a molting adult female bird. If you're in an area with Swamp Sparrow, Song Sparrow, and Yellow Warbler, it sure sounds like the habitat would be right for Common Yellowthroat. At this date, this could even be a wandering bird or a bird on its first leg of southbound migration rather than a resident.
