    Default Eye contact

Shot from a boat on Lake Norman NC

We have hundreds of Ospreys and GBH on Lake Norman, a lake with a 500mile shore line

Nests are all over the lake, some on shoal markers and some on man made platforms

This is like the last thing a fish sees. OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Just wish the eyes were a bit brighter. An easy fix. Some might find it a bit tight , but more room would ruin the "in your face" impact.

    Randy:

Def. in your face. I would probably crop it a smidge looser, but it does make an impact.

I do think the image could go 1/4 to 1/3 brighter to give it a bit more oomph without blowing the whites.

    Great wing and tail position.

    Cheers

Lots of impact here, good job getting this image so sharp. Agree on lightening the face a bit.

Impressive pose and eye contact, Randy. I love the feather detail of the wings. Eyes and bill seem a little soft compared to wings - maybe a little more selective sharpening is worth trying. What aperture, ISO , SS did you have?

Great detail and that stare is outstanding. I would brighten up those eyes, otherwise no changes.

a little brighter in the face/eyes would help. I would try a slightly larger crop and compare. Maybe one with a larger aspect ratio (so maybe just add a bit of room to the left?).
