    Well that is what I was told it was, I had never heard of it, but the ID book backs this up.

    Taken on Lake Manze Channel, Selous Game Reserve, 7th July 2012

    EOS 1D Mk IV

    500mm F4 hand-held from drifting boat

    F5.6, ISO 800, 1/3200, EV-0.67

    nice warm tones and display of habitat. just wish for a slight head turn.

    I really only posted this in case nobody had seen one before, like me.
    Head turn is a curse, it is a pity that we cannot train the birds
    Vivaldo your comment made me scurry back to check the dimensions they are 40 x 34 not square but nearly, I do not mind squarish images but perhaps a little more on the right would assist in removing this perception.

    Ken, awesome shooting angle and details. loved the alert pose nad the grasses. excellent.

    I think some more room on right will help as the egret is directly looking out of the frame that side. If the egret had been looking a bit more towards you, sqaurish would have worked better, IMO. Nevertheless, a very fine image.

    I did something really stupid processing this (what's new) and cropped it before saving . I doubt that I will be able to process it that well again, but I will give it a go.
