Took this in northern MA during a Terns and Piping Plovers workshop with Mike Milicia, a couple months ago. I liked the dynamic pose, the play of light and shadow, the background, the irridescence of the fish. Wish I could see the fish's head.
Crop, sharpening, NR, and some highlights recovery. Also did Content-Aware fill on a few out of focus birds along lower edge.
Thank you so much in advance for any comments and critiques.

Just loving the wing form in this one, lovely exposure too....nice soft color tones too, I think a little more noise reduction might be even better and if you look really hard { being nit picky } there is a faded odd mark about midway between the wings and on the edge of the misty clouds...have to look pretty hard though

    Melissa:

I agree, a strong pose, interesting lines in the frame from wings and tail. Muted color palette with punch of color from the feet and bill. Nice catchlight. Good angle in the frame
For personal taste, I might consider smoothing the roundish white areas in the background. Particularly the far right one.

    Cheers

I love the comp in this one, Melissa. And the head and fish against the outstretched wing. And the light and BG. Well done.

Beautiful portrait ! Well exposed and very well framed. I love the light and the iridescence of the fish.

The large roundish out of focus objects behind the bird are a slight annoyance in an otherwise perfect shot.

Nice capture. Love the pose with the head and fish highlighted against the wing. Good detail and exposure. Perfect comp too. Not much no to like on this one. I would remove or soften the blobs. Great Job

Perfect pose and exposure. Excellent comp. I agree witht he BG suggestions...and why can't fish catching birds have their prey's faces facing towards photographers!!

Melissa, you captured very dynamic pose here and sharpness, and exposure looks spot on...well done and hope we will get to photograph terns in flight and also ensure they keep their prey's faces facing towards us

Outstanding Melissa! Personally I would change a thing about it. Wish it were mine! Really love the wing position, that makes it for me.

Excellent image ... fantastic pose and BG!

I'm seeing a bit of a green cast ... here's a repost with 6 points of magenta added in a Color Balance adjustment.
See what you think. May have overdone it a tad but I'm sure you can do a better job with the RAW file.

Thanks all for your comments and suggestions, and Mike, for your repost. I like what you've done, though would stop a point or two shorter on the magenta side. But it's definitely an improvement.
Struggling with my color casts lately....
