This looks almost like it was taken in a studio (no insult intended).
It is a long time since I used to have Red Squirrels in my garden, so I do not remember the colours that well, but it strikes me that it could be slightly too red.
I think this makes for an interesting composition and the result is good for me

I like the composition and the diagonal branch the critter is on. I would suggest some cropping from left and right is needed but still have more room in front of the squirrel then behind.
I suggest desaturate red color some and try some shadow recovery.
Points well covered. I do like the pose.
Good comments Robert to take it up a gear, Paulo try and get these guys in the Winter when they have their ear tuffs, it really sets them apart.

Good suggestions made above...also seems to have picked up some noise in the tail?
