    Default On the kill

Same cheetah mum and cubs as posted earlier a few moments later. This is not so "brutal", and maybe that is pity. Would have been nice too see more of the kill. Iīm thinking here a comp with subjects in center, as both the cubs are leaned in to the center, seems to me natural. From Masai Mara last november.

    C&C most welcome.

Cropped, levels adjusted, wb adjusted and sharpness added.

    Gregor,

Well you certainly had some "pesky" grass to deal with here, but it was good for the Cheetah to sneak up in.

Your central composition works for me and Mums eyes really do the job, all in all a great habitat image

Hi Gregor, looks like you certainly got your fill with this family, looks like it worked out nicely.

The intense stare with those piercing eyes really looks you in and grabs the viewer. Based on the position within the depth of the image, have you tried or thought about a pano crop where you have just the top third as sky? I think this could also be an option to consider and helps keep your eyes drawn/focused to the subjects. Do you have any other images similar to this where the second cub is more visible?

Both Techs & processing looks good.

    Hi Steve

    Thanks for comments.

Yes, I got a lot of this family. Didnīt really get a similar image with both cubs visible. This is the closest I think. Mum on duty though. I got a lot of cub pictures, but that is another story.

Iīm posting this as a reply to you. If you think this got merits to post as a own thread I can do that. Iīm thinking that BPN donīt want to many pics that is very like. But, this is going OT in to the previously discussed question about series.

Cropped, levels adjusted, wb adjusted and sharpness added. One branch in top-left corner is removed. A bit lighter exposure in LR than previous pic.

    Gregor,

Your second image is fine and could be posted in new thread. Not a big deal, but for the future please know one of the forum guidelines prohibits posted different images in the same critique thread.

Regarding the OP, I like your centralized placement - I think that is perfect for the subject's positioning in the grass. I would recommend cropping out more sky to just above the tall grass on the right. This will better accentuate your subject and lose the uninteresting sky.
