    Default Dragonfly on Lotus Pads

I went out to photograph lotus today, for the first time in months. There are many large masses of them at the waterway, they are taking over in several areas. I especially enjoy enhancing the colorful dying lotus pads and leaves. Just as I was starting to make this photo a dragonfly landed on the leaf. I was shooting between cattails and grass at the water's edge so I had to crop close. Topaz Detail and Adjust, Nik vignette blur and vignette, and PhotoFrame edge.

Judy, I love the colors and the effect. It looks like a volcano on a distant planet

Thanks Cheryl! Yes it does look like a volcano. I saw quite a few of those last summer but not so many this year. I made some photos in the spring but never even edited them as they weren't dying much then and not too interesting.

Judy, this does look like a mini volcano. The color treatment is bold and appealing. The DF is camouflaged nicely.
