    Default Itsy Bitsy Spider

Or, "Stranger in a Strange Land"... Well, that's already been used. I was out waiting for hawks to fly yesterday when I noticed this little jumping spider on the bed rail of my truck. A quick lens change to the closest thing I have to a macro lens - my 28-135mm. Sure wish I had one of those macro lenses! These little spiders actually have a personality (or something) and are a real hoot to watch. I interacted with this one for about a half hour. It spun around, flexed its legs, and ran up to the lens when I got real close. I knew immediately that I could do something with Topaz photoFXlab, so I did. Elements used include Adjust, DeNoise, Detail, and Clean.

What a neat little fellow. Look like she's quite prepared to take you on! A nicely balanced clean image.

I like the blue surface she is on with the green background. The quality of the spider looks great. I do wish for a closer look!

There is a lot to like about this image. First, there is the expression of the spider. A bit of astonishment, a little bit of a threat...Then, there is the warm background contrasted with the clean and cool blue of the truck. This all works for me!

This is way cool! I want one in my yard! Wonderful bold bkgd colors & a simple line to contrast and emphasize the itsy bitsy spider.

Kerry, Very interesting background. The spider stands out well. I like the way it appears to be coming at you. Nice job with the filtering!

Kerry - this reminds me of the "moon rover". I love the simplicity of the image.

Thanks everyone! Sometimes it's fun to think about reducing an image to the most fundamental elements.
