Hey Mike. Welcome. And thanks a stack for your membership suppoert. Sharp with a good exposure. Looks like a very worn adult. The shadows especially have a blue/cyan cast.

The big problem is the image design: the bird is centered. Best to have two to three times more room from the bill tip to the frame edge than from the tail tip to the frame edge. Here, those distances are the same. Do you have more room in front of the bird in the ORIG?

    Where is Minneola???

Hi Arthur. Thank you for the welcome!

Unfortunately, I don't have any more room in front of the bird on this particular picture, but I might have another shot with more room. You're right about the blue cast.

    I really appreciate your critique.

Minneola is 7 miles north of Disney next to Clermont.

YAW. Best to choose an AF sensor that will yield a pleasing composition. In this case selecting a sensor to hit the neck would have done the trick. We are practically neighbors.

I tried removing some of the blue cast and did find some room to the left of the subject.

    Thanks for your guidance Arthur.

Hey Mike, You are getting closer. I de-saturated the BLUEs and the CYANs, ran a 35% average blur color balance on the image, cropped from the bottom (this was thie biggest improvement), did a bit of beach clean-up, and moved and reduced the size of your signature--it was way too big.

You are welcome. I meant to suggest our Digital Basics File. It's only $20 and you will learn a ton more about post-processing than you would from any course. It contains my complete digital workflow and dozens of great Photoshop tips including all that I did with your image :).
